CEATEC Japan 2009: Stantum Announces Opening of Office in Tokyo, Japan

Stantum (www.stantum.com), the pioneering multi-touch technology provider, announced today that it has officially opened a liaison office in Japan.

Stantum’s new office in Tokyo will allow building new partnerships with Japanese OEMs and touch panel/display/silicon vendors as well as offering a greater commercial and technical support from local professionals to their increasing demand for Stantum’s Multi-Touch technology.

“Japan is a crucial country for Stantum’s global business goals since it is a leading country for Gaming, PC, Smartphone, Car Navigation markets but also for touch panel and display,” explains Robert Pelissier, VP Sales & Business Development.

Stantum multi-touch technology implementation and deployment in professional audio products since 2005 explain its high robustness and reliability as well as its solid IP foundations. The company now brings highly integrated and production-ready solutions to the market by having its multi-touch technology licensed to leading semiconductor companies.

Mr. Pelissier adds, “Stantum multi-touch will be deployed in high volume consumer products as of 2010 and most of key companies in the world are currently evaluating or considering to design Stantum multi-touch in new products within the next months.”

Masaki Kubodera is acting as Director of Sales & Business Development for Japanese operations. Mr. Kubodera has more than 15 years of sales, marketing and business development experience in the wireless semiconductor industry with a focus on mobile consumer electronics technologies.

“Due to its unmatched advantages, Stantum’s Multi-Touch technology is promised to be a leading standard for mobile phones, MIDs (mobile internet devices), game consoles or laptops, and I am very proud to bring it to the Japanese market,” says Mr. Kubodera.
