About CEATEC 2009 Japan

CEATEC JAPAN has spanned many of the “next directions” opened by digital convergence. In 2006, products were increasingly digital and becoming linked to networks, leading to the declaration that “Digital convergence will change lifestyles and society.”

In 2007, networked products were given new technologies, and new players entered the marketplace. The shape of digital convergence began to emerge.

We enter a new stage, in which the many new capabilities and services made possible by digital convergence, as well as the benefits to lifestyles and society enter the realm of reality. This is a new stage of industries borne by the convergence of devices, hardware, software, services and contents.

It is also a new stage of business opportunities to develop new markets and users.

CEATEC JAPAN 2009 provides exhibitors and visitors alike the chance to participate in the new stage of digital convergence. [Source]

Hitachi launches LCD TV with designer bezels

Oktober 15, 2008

HItachi Designer LCD Bezels Hitachi just launched their new LCD TVs with designer bezels. I guess it’s really about time that you show off your LCD, not hide it.

The designer bezels were designed by contemporary artists from Japan and was on display during the recent CEATEC show. This is still a prototype but it looks pretty good now with its orange and gold leaf design.

I think this will set a trend in LCD TVs becoming more than just a gadget inside the house but also part of the design.

No word yet on when the official ones will be released.

Oktober 1, 2008

ceatec-toshiba-media-server-conceptThis media server concept was part of a Toshiba demo during CEATEC in Japan about how the telephone, the media server and a TV (with wireless HD) could interact. The media server automatically downloads media files form the cellphone as soon as the user drops it nearby (using near field communication or NFC). Oktober 1, 2008

JVC Ultra Slim LED TVJVC just introduced a new media set during the CEATEC techshow in Japan that includes a slim DVD player, slim TV tuner, and a slim LED TV. Like most new gadgets displayed in tech shows, this JVC set lacks specs information.

I think JVC is excited to show off their stuff so they even launched new HD TVs with iPod video cable. There is also a waterproof case for the new Everio HD camera plus a mini hi-fi, digital audio players, and a 3D LCD TV. Way to go JVC! we want more! We want more!

[CEATEC 2008] DoCoMo displays split phone at CEATEC techshow

Oktober 1, 2008

DoCoMo and Fujitsu splitting phone by momentimediaWe’ve already seen some really cool Fujitsu phones but the y are not the only one showing off some more interesting, hi-tech phones. At the CEATEC techshow, Japanese telco giant DoCoMo just introduced a concept phone that could be split into two.

The first piece is a keyboard while the other one features a screen. It’s similar to a flip phone but is held together by magnets. Bluetooth connectivity is crucial because the two pieces communicate together via this wireless technology.

Phone is still a concept so this could still be improved.

[CEATEC 2008] Solar Panel Phone: Green phone set in gold?

Oktober 1, 2008

AU Concept Phones by momentimediaThe ongoing CEATAC is now a gallery for futuristic concept phones. And this one shown in the photo may look like a satellite but this actually is a solar phone.

The huge solar panels on the side give power to the phone obviously. I am not really sure if its stated to land the luxury phone list because of the gold paint but it certainly has a ‘green’ potential.

[CEATEC 2008] Fujitsu shows off concept phones at CEATEC techshow in Japan

Oktober 1, 2008

Fujitsu Concept Phones by momentimediaFujitsu showed new concept phones today at the CEATEC techshow in Japan that look so cool with red LED keys. The phones still have no official names but they sure look smart and fancy.

The one on the left looks like a slider phone with a spacious touchscreen dispaly. The one in the middle also slideS but reminds me more of a flip phone while the last one looks like you could swivel the screen.

Fujitsu has some nice concept phones here so, keep it up Fujitsu! Actually, just make them already.
